自然に成長する教会(NCD)とは、教会成長に関する特徴的な考え方（パラダイム）の一つです。 NCDでは、教会成長を考えるとき、量より質（健康）の優先を提唱しています。教会の規模（人数）が健康な教会成長の指数とは限りません。信徒の弟子化、教会の働き（宣教）そして、それらの働きを通して成長することが出来る教会を、「健康な教会」と考えます。それは、教会において質・量の両面で実を結ぶための健康的成長を促す一つの方法です。

Natural Church Development(NCD) is a paradigm – a way of thinking about church growth. NCD suggests that quality (health) should precede quantity in church growth thinking. Size itself is no indicator of healthy growth. A healthy church is better able to grow through reproducing disciples, ministries and itself. It is a way of stimulating sustainable healthy growth in a church to produce fruit of lasting quality and quantity.

クリスチャン・シュヴァルツ氏（ドイツ）によって行われた、最も包括的な教会成長に関する調査に基づき、人間的な方法論ではなく神ご自身が教会を成長させるメカニズムを解放することに焦点を置いています。教会成長の原則は、健康な成長は教派、神学、ミニストリー、礼拝形式や大きさに影響されないことが、調査を通して明らかにされました。

It is based largely on Christian　Schwarz’s(Germany) most comprehensive research ever undertaken of the causes of church growth. It is focused on releasing the growth mechanisms, by which God Himself grows His church, instead of trying to bring about growth by human methodologies. The research uncovered principles promoting healthy growth independent of a church’s denomination, theology, ministry model, liturgical style or size.

NCDは原則を土台とし、プログラムに基づくものではありません。

「自然に成長する教会」は、ドイツに本部を置く同研究所所長のクリスチャン・シュヴァルツ氏によって設立されました。2003年には5大陸、32カ国、22000教会で教会成長に関する調査が行われ、文化や霊的スタイルに関らず適応できる普遍的法則を明らかにしました。

NCD is principles-based not program based. Natural Church Development was founded by Christian A. Schwarz, who now heads up the Institute for Natural Church Development International, based in Germany. By 2003, the Institute had surveyed over 22,000 churches either directly or through its network of National Partners around the world, 32 countries on 5 continents, NCD unveils universal growth principles that are applicable regardless of culture or spiritual style.

NCDは世界中の教会指導者達によって認められ、受け入れられています。NCD調査を2度行った教会の８５％はその後、量的教会成長を経験しています。つまり、NCDは健康に成長する教会を創る手助けをする為に「質」の部分を優先します。

NCD is recognized and endorsed by church leaders worldwide. It works… 85% of all churches that have done the NCD survey a second time have experienced numerical growth. In short NCD is giving priority to QUALITY – to assist in creating a healthy growing church.

調査プロジェクト –６大陸　３２カ国、１０００教会

NCDは教会の健康を改善し向上させる為に、長期的戦略期間を用います。それは教会の健康を測る8分野で、ユニーク、正確かつ最新の評価を提供する洗練された診断法を中心に行われます。

NCD uses a long term strategic process for improving the health of churches. It centres on a sophisticated diagnostic tool which provides a unique, accurate and up-to-date assessment of the health of a church in eight quality areas.

教会健康定期診断を通し、教会リーダーは以下の点を通して教会健康を改善していく事が出来ます。

＊    基本的な成長価値に対する教会の献身度の評価

＊    限られた資源に焦点を当て、教会健康へ最大限の影響を与えるように用いる

NCDインターナショナルは教会の質・健康を測る査定調査法を開発。調査終了後、次の段階では更に教会が健康になるために、弱点に取り組む為の戦略を立てます。調査は1年ごとに行われ、教会の健全性を保つための新しい視点が確立されます。

• focus limited resources for maximum impact on health
• move from a program-based mentality to a principles-based approach
• take a long term strategy for producing lasting health and growth
• grow a church as a living organism rather than merely build a spiritual organisation —NCD International has developed an assessment survey to help you measure the quality, “health”, of your church in these eight areas. When you have completed your church survey, the next step is to develop a strategy to address your weakest area and move to greater and greater health. The survey is repeated yearly and your new health focus is established.
